Alan J. Wilkinson is a Manchester born Photographer, educator and activist.

Wilkinson exhibits both nationally and internationally, shows include; Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool; Manchester City Art Gallery, Manchester; Watershed, Bristol; Lighthouse, Wolverhampton; Dagmar de Pooter Gallery, Antwerp and the 34th salon Chateau de Saint-Ouen, Paris.

Past published works include Driving Blind (Dewi Lewis 2005), English Candies. (Viewpoint Gallery 1995) and his up and coming collaboration Vestige, with the Liverpool Poet Pauline Rowe.

His practice follows a reflexive route echoed in his ongoing exploration of his family relationships past and present.

He has worked in more traditional educational settings for over 20 years and has previously run photography workshops through The Impressions Gallery, Redeye and The Photography Network.

Wilkinson continues to create work and lives in West Yorkshire.
